The Association
Arbeitskreis Europäische Jugendwochen Burg Ludwigstein e.V.

About us
Our association bears the name Arbeitskreis Europäische Jugendwochen Burg Ludwigstein e.V. It is based in Witzenhausen and registered in the association register of the Eschwege district court. The association serves exclusively and directly charitable purposes.
More than just dance and music: Communication at eye level
Culture comes alive with us. We believe that singing, making music and dancing together are the best ways to overcome language barriers and have genuine conversations. While the early meetings were primarily shaped by folk dance, choral and instrumental music have also become pillars of our shared work today.
Purpose of the Association
The association pursues exclusively charitable purposes, realized in particular through:
- Organisation and implementation of the European Youth Weeks at Burg Ludwigstein.
- Promotion of the European idea and intercultural exchange among young people from different countries.
- Support of participating groups in their cultural, creative and social work.
- Nurturing cooperation with European partner organisations and former participants.
- Strengthening understanding, friendship and solidarity across national, ethnic and religious borders.

Die Ludwigsteiner
Die Ludwigsteiner are the association's own dance group of the Arbeitskreis Europäische Jugendwochen.
The dancers come together from all over Germany. For this reason, they only meet a few times a year, but then rehearse very intensively and with great passion.
The group showcases various German traditions, which they dance into stories. They use old folk dances and various traditional costumes, working them into new choreographies. They are always accompanied live by the Ludwigsteiner Musiker.
The group presents these stories each year at the European Youth Week, as well as at various performances inside and outside Germany.
